Fall Cocktails: Trinidad Sour

Fall Cocktails: Trinidad Sour

Posted on October 8, 2018

This Fall we’re doing a sour with bold flavors. An easy drink to make, with two unique ingredients.
This cocktail includes a half-ounce of Angostura Bitters. People are sometimes too shy with Angostura. It’s mellower than you might think with a great holiday flavor. The half-ounce here will turn the cocktail opaque and add alcohol.
To cut the sharpness of the Angostura, we like a honey-orange syrup. Warm a simple honey syrup (1-to-1 honey and water), but let a handful of orange peels steep in the mixture for 20 minutes or longer. You really want a lot of orange peel in there in order for the flavor to deliver above the Angostura.
Shake the ingredients and serve up in a coupe or cocktail class, or, if you like, in an old-fashioned glass with a big hunk of ice. Cheers to Fall!
