The wonderful thing about this recipe is that you can substitute almost any spring or summer veg or fruit you want to. Radishes are just coming in in SoCal, and we’ve got some borage flowers out front. Something peppery like radish balances the blackberry honey. Or you could just go simple: ricotta, honey, black pepper, salt.
Here’s what we like:
- Thick cut toast of your choice (rec: sourdough)
- An ample schmear of soft ricotta (not to be confused with ricotta salata)
- Drizzle your favorite honey (we used blackberry)
- Sliced garden radishes- salt, black pepper, and olive oil.
Simple as that.
